What coaxial cable can I use for VoD measurements?
Most quality 75 Ohm coaxial cable is suitable for use with ShotTrack VoD products. RG6/U Quad Shield offers the highest quality but is around 10 mm in diameter. The RG59-Mini we supply is only 3.7 mm, so a single box holds a full 610 m run and is still around 20% smaller than a 305 m box of RG6. For most applications, RG59-Mini is the practical choice.
What connectors are used?
ShotTrack VoD units use standard BNC connections. All cable purchased from ShotTrack comes pre-terminated with a BNC connector, ready to plug straight into the unit with no field termination required. If you are sourcing your own cable, you will need to fit a 75 Ohm BNC connector. Talk to our team for advice on the best solution.
What is the best cable for underground testing?
RG59-Mini. At just 3.7 mm in diameter it is highly flexible, and its compact box size makes it easy to handle in confined workings.
Measurement & performance
What length holes can the VoD-610 measure?
The VoD-610 can measure holes as short as 1 m. The unit requires approximately 50 m of lead-in cable between the monitor and the measurement zone, so from a standard 610 m cable you have up to 560 m of usable measuring length. There is no maximum hole depth as such; the practical limit is the usable cable length.
Does ShotTrack use resistive wire?
No. ShotTrack VoD monitors use Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) on standard 75 Ohm coaxial cable. Unlike resistive-wire systems, TDR works with quality coaxial cable that is readily available worldwide, giving you high-resolution velocity data without proprietary consumables.
Do ShotTrack vibration monitors measure velocity or acceleration?
Our monitors measure acceleration natively, the true engineering metric, and convert to velocity for PPV compliance reporting. You get both: engineering-grade acceleration data for analysis and the velocity figures your regulator expects.
Does the ViB-ProX measure air overpressure?
No, the ViB-ProX is a dedicated vibration monitor. If you need air overpressure measurement, the ViB-Pro SaS records overpressure alongside vibration.

How do I connect to my unit?
ShotTrack units connect wirelessly using our apps for iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac. Units charge via USB-C.
How do I access and analyse my data?
Data from your units is analysed and reported through ShockAI, our cloud analytics platform. Contact our team to set up access for your organisation.

How do I return a unit for repair or calibration?
Complete the ShotTrack RMA form using your company name and the date as the RMA number, then send it to support@shottrack.com.au and coffsharbour@packsend.com.au, who will arrange pick-up of the items.
