This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") forms part of the ShotTrack Legal & Trust Framework and applies to all users of ShotTrack Products, Software, Cloud Services and the ShockAI platform.
Its purpose is to protect our customers, our systems and the integrity, security and availability of the ShotTrack platform.
By accessing or using any ShotTrack Product or Service, you agree to comply with this Policy.
This Policy should be read together with the Products & Services Terms, Website Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and AI & Data Policy.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to:
- the ShotTrack website;
- ShockAI;
- desktop software;
- mobile applications;
- cloud services;
- APIs;
- firmware updates;
- customer portals;
- technical support services;
- all connected ShotTrack devices.
It applies to all Customers, Authorised Users, contractors, consultants and any person accessing or using ShotTrack Products or Services.
2. Purpose
ShotTrack Products are designed for legitimate commercial, industrial, engineering, research and environmental monitoring applications.
This Policy establishes the standards of behaviour expected from users to ensure:
- platform reliability;
- cyber security;
- customer privacy;
- data integrity;
- legal compliance;
- responsible use of AI-enabled services.
3. Lawful Use
Users must use ShotTrack Products and Services only for lawful purposes.
Users must comply with all applicable:
- laws;
- regulations;
- permit conditions;
- workplace health and safety requirements;
- environmental obligations;
- contractual obligations.
Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of the Products complies with all applicable laws within the jurisdictions in which they operate.
4. Account Security
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.
Users must:
- maintain strong passwords;
- protect authentication credentials;
- not share accounts unless expressly permitted;
- immediately report suspected unauthorised access;
- ensure user accounts are removed when no longer required.
Users remain responsible for activity conducted using their credentials.
5. Accurate Information
Users must provide accurate information when:
- creating accounts;
- registering Products;
- creating projects;
- uploading operational information;
- requesting support;
- submitting warranty claims;
- processing orders.
Users must not knowingly provide false, misleading or fraudulent information.
6. Prohibited Activities
Users must not:
- violate any law;
- infringe another person's Intellectual Property Rights;
- upload malicious software;
- distribute malware;
- introduce viruses;
- interfere with system security;
- gain unauthorised access to systems;
- bypass authentication controls;
- attempt privilege escalation;
- interfere with cloud infrastructure;
- overload network resources;
- scrape confidential information;
- disrupt other users;
- impersonate another person;
- submit fraudulent information;
- conduct denial-of-service attacks;
- use automated tools to abuse the platform;
- attempt to circumvent subscription limits;
- reverse engineer Software except where expressly permitted by law.
7. Intellectual Property
Users must respect all Intellectual Property Rights associated with ShotTrack Products and Services.
Unless expressly permitted, users must not:
- copy Software;
- distribute Software;
- modify Firmware;
- decompile applications;
- reverse engineer hardware;
- remove copyright notices;
- reproduce documentation for commercial purposes.
Nothing in this Policy limits rights available under applicable law.
8. Responsible Use of AI
Where ShotTrack Products include artificial intelligence functionality, users agree to:
- independently review AI-generated outputs;
- maintain appropriate engineering oversight;
- avoid relying solely upon AI recommendations;
- use AI outputs responsibly;
- report suspected AI errors where appropriate.
Users acknowledge that AI-generated outputs are intended to support decision-making and do not replace professional judgement.
9. Customer Data
Users remain responsible for all information uploaded to ShotTrack Products and Services.
Users warrant that they have the necessary rights and permissions to upload Customer Data.
Users must not upload information that:
- infringes Intellectual Property Rights;
- is unlawful;
- contains malicious code;
- intentionally disrupts platform operation;
- breaches privacy legislation.
10. Security Reporting
Users who become aware of a security vulnerability affecting ShotTrack Products or Services are encouraged to report it responsibly.
Users must not publicly disclose security vulnerabilities before allowing ShotTrack a reasonable opportunity to investigate and remediate the issue.
ShotTrack values responsible security disclosure and will investigate all genuine reports.
11. Fair Use
ShotTrack Products and Services are designed to provide reliable access for all customers.
Users must not use the platform in a manner that unreasonably consumes system resources or negatively affects the experience of other users.
Examples of excessive or unreasonable use include:
- automated requests that exceed documented API limits;
- excessive data uploads intended to disrupt services;
- repeated creation of unnecessary projects or accounts;
- intentional abuse of AI processing resources;
- activities designed to degrade platform performance.
Where unusually high legitimate usage is expected, Customers should contact ShotTrack to discuss appropriate subscription options or infrastructure requirements.
12. API Use
Where ShotTrack provides an Application Programming Interface (API), Customers must use it in accordance with the applicable documentation and licence terms.
Users must not:
- attempt to bypass API authentication;
- exceed published rate limits;
- use the API to interfere with platform operation;
- reverse engineer undocumented functionality;
- access data belonging to another Customer;
- use the API for unlawful purposes.
ShotTrack may modify, replace or discontinue APIs as Products and Services evolve.
Reasonable notice will be provided where changes materially affect supported integrations.
13. System Integrity
Users must not attempt to interfere with the integrity, security or availability of ShotTrack systems.
Prohibited activities include:
- vulnerability scanning without written approval;
- penetration testing without authorisation;
- denial-of-service attacks;
- attempts to gain elevated privileges;
- credential harvesting;
- unauthorised access to databases;
- bypassing authentication mechanisms;
- introducing malicious software;
- interfering with audit logs or security controls.
These restrictions apply regardless of whether the activity is successful.
14. Monitoring and Audit
To protect the security, reliability and integrity of our Products and Services, ShotTrack may monitor:
- system performance;
- authentication events;
- account activity;
- platform usage;
- API usage;
- security events;
- operational logs.
Monitoring is undertaken for legitimate business purposes, including:
- maintaining service availability;
- detecting fraud;
- investigating suspected misuse;
- responding to security incidents;
- complying with legal obligations.
Monitoring is conducted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
15. Enforcement
Where ShotTrack reasonably believes this Policy has been breached, we may take appropriate action including:
- issuing warnings;
- requesting corrective action;
- temporarily restricting access;
- suspending accounts;
- disabling specific functionality;
- terminating access;
- reporting unlawful conduct to relevant authorities;
- commencing legal proceedings where appropriate.
ShotTrack will generally seek to resolve issues cooperatively where practical, however serious or deliberate misconduct may result in immediate action.
16. Suspension of Services
ShotTrack may suspend access to Products or Services where reasonably necessary to:
- protect Customers;
- protect platform security;
- investigate suspected misuse;
- prevent unlawful activity;
- respond to cyber security threats;
- perform emergency maintenance;
- comply with legal obligations;
- address unpaid accounts where applicable.
Where reasonably practicable, advance notice will be provided for planned maintenance or non-urgent suspensions.
17. Reporting Misuse
If you believe a ShotTrack Product or Service is being misused, or if you become aware of activity that may compromise the security or integrity of the platform, please notify ShotTrack as soon as reasonably practicable.
Reports should include sufficient information to enable investigation, including:
- the nature of the issue;
- relevant dates and times;
- affected Products or Services;
- supporting evidence where available.
ShotTrack will investigate genuine reports in accordance with its internal security and incident response procedures.
18. Changes to this Policy
ShotTrack may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect:
- changes to legislation;
- changes to Products or Services;
- emerging cyber security risks;
- improvements to platform governance;
- changes to industry best practice.
The current version will always be available on the ShotTrack website.
Where changes materially affect Customers, we will provide reasonable notice through appropriate communication channels.

21. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia.
The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and any courts competent to hear appeals from those courts.
Nothing in this Policy limits any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
